I'm Rachel - a twenty year old college student living in Illinois, USA. For the last two years, I attended Southwestern Illinois College - a community college in my area. This fall, I will be transferring as a junior to the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign as a Mathematics major. I will be living with my best friend and our two pet Chinchillas.
I currently work at a grocery store in the Floral section - which basically means, I just sit around until customers come, and then go home.
I enjoy photography and writing. I've been writing journals and short stories since as far back as I can remember - although I no longer have most of them. I tend to write in journals off and on, so I'm a little inconsistent, but lately I've been trying to force myself to stick with it. I got into photography when I was in high school - I bought my first SLR - a Nikon - when I was a sophmore in high school. I later upgraded to a Canon Digital Rebel, because I was raised on computers and have an easier time with it. I no longer own the Nikon (I passed it along to my sister), but I still shoot with the Canon. I also have a Sony DSC-T9 - I saw it in the store and couldn't resist impulsively buying it.
I love music - particularly, rock, punk, industrial, and alternative. I love to go to concerts and mosh, even though I'm a small girl. I like computers - my mom is a computer tech, so I've had one as long as I can remember, built my current one, and fix other people's a lot. I like programming, but only if it goes right the first time. I love to read - I have more books than I know what to do with, stored in boxes in my closet. I love to learn. I love video games - I had (and still have, somewhere) the original Nintendo when I was a kid, and currently have a Nintendo64 (also, somewhere) and a Playstation. My current favourite games are the Final Fantasies, but I also like Zelda and anything Mario related. I used to play first-person shooters (Unreal Tournament, Counterstike, etc) on the computer, but I kinda grew out of it.
I'm into body mods, a bit - I have my ears pierced, like virtually every other girl, but I also have my tongue and my lip pierced. I also have a tattoo, and infinity symbol on my wrist, which is pretty recent. I date guys off and on. I can be a pretty social person, but I also like having personal time to myself.

This website was started in 2005 (I think) as a place to showcase my photos and my writing. Since then, I have worked on a few thousand designs for it, off and on, (I have trouble with focus) with little success. Before this, I had several websites, hosted by a friend I've since lost touch with, but nothing very spectacular. My hope is that this site will encourage me to continue writing, taking pictures, and sharing my work.
